Please be aware that there is a lot of legislation on the books right now accross the nation, to make mandatory spay & neuter a law as well as making it illegal to own certain breeds of dogs or to stop in certain towns with these dogs in our vehicles. While we agree that most need to spay & neuter their pets, we do not believe that the government has the right to make that choice for us. This affects responsible breeders as well and in the future this could make the owning of the breed of our choice either impossible or so costly as to no longer be an option. Mixed breed dogs will cease to exist. A few unresponsible people will take away the loves of our lives, be it that cute little terrier pup or the big Rottweiler. Please keep on the alert and ask for information. This will affect all breeds, not just the big or perceived to be "bad" ones. The American Kennel Club keeps an updated list of proposed legislation on their website. http://www.akc.org/news/sections/legislative_alerts.cfm
